maxdrop, operated by FOMO Group OÜ (Estonia, registry code 17616828), is committed to keeping its platform free from money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud. This policy explains our general approach to identity verification and account monitoring. It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
We apply identity verification on a risk basis. Depending on your account activity, we may ask you to verify your identity, typically with a government-issued photo ID and, where relevant, a recent proof of address, before completing certain actions on your account, such as a shipment. We don't publish the specific circumstances that trigger a verification request, since doing so could help bad actors structure their activity to avoid it. If we ask you to verify, we'll tell you what we need and why at the time. We may use a specialist identity-verification provider to carry out these checks. Documents are handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
If verification is requested, the affected action on your account will not be processed until it is completed. If you do not provide the information, or if it does not check out, we may decline the transaction. Where we have reasonable grounds to suspect the account is being used for money laundering or fraud, or in breach of our Terms, we may also suspend or close the account and withhold the balance or items connected to the suspected activity pending investigation.
We may ask questions about any financial transaction on your account, including the source of the funds used to add to your balance, particularly where our payment provider flags a transaction as higher risk. If you do not provide information or evidence that satisfies us, we may decline a deposit, suspend your account, or close it.
We monitor account activity for patterns that may indicate money laundering, fraud, or abuse. Where our review raises a genuine concern, we may request further information from you, restrict the account while we look into it, and report our concerns to the competent authorities where the law requires or permits us to.
We keep records of identity verification, and of the transactions connected to it, for 5 years after the end of your relationship with maxdrop, even if you close your account or ask us to delete other personal data. See our Privacy Policy for more on retention.
We cooperate with regulators, tax authorities, law enforcement, and our payment providers, including by responding to valid information requests. This policy follows applicable anti-money-laundering laws and the requirements of our payment providers, and will be updated as those rules evolve or as we expand to new markets.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example in response to a change in the law, in our risk assessment, or in our own product. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date.
